National Women’s Health Week

It’s National Women’s Health Week

May 9th – 15, 2021 | A reminder for women & girls to make their health a priority.

This week is a special week in the world of healthcare; it’s National Women’s Health Week.

According to the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Office on Women’s Health, National Women’s Health (NWHW) week strives to end the epidemic and elevate women’s health across the nation. It was created to serve as a reminder for women and girls, especially during the current pandemic, to always make their health a priority. The goal of NWHW is to continuously encourage women of all ages to put their health first – physical and mental health.

As we enter into the second NWHW to occur during a global pandemic, mental health is a huge focus of this year’s discussion. Staying connected with friends, family, and your community is strongly encouraged by the Offices of Women’s Health (OWH) as a way to combat mental fatigue, depression, anxiety, and overall well-being.

It’s not always easy to take steps for better health but we have tools and resources that can help you create a plan that works for you. A great way to get started is to reflect on your health goals, and the things that can help you be your healthiest you, especially during the pandemic.

The OWH offers a list of resources to help women and girls start making strides towards bettering their health that include protections against COVID-19 and how to create a personalized plan (by yourself or with your doctor) to feel better and be better!

So what are you waiting for? Start your journey to better health today – because healthy looks great at any age!
